XenApp 5.0 published applications and profiles part 2

By Edwin

I tested arround with XenApp 5.0 on 2008 server with session sharing. Session sharing is working without any problems as long as you keep all the servers exactly the same. So this means all settings and applications have to be exactly the same on all servers. If this is the case session sharing works without any problem and you wil see users opening all their applications on 1 server and in 1 session. But what i’ve this is not the case then you get the problems as written in part 1of this post.

I know you could solve this by using silo’s but i’ve the environment you are creating is to small for that I didn’t find another solution other then using RES Powerfuse for example.

You always wil have smaller enviroments where the customer demands the usage of published apps and the Citrix Webinterface, mostly you see that this are environments where the customer doesn’t want to install all the apps on all the servers and not all the customers want RES to solve this problem.

What I would like to know i’ve there are people that solved this another way for example with special scripts or FPK scripting or something like that.

Is there another way?
