XenApp 5.0 published applications and profiles

By Edwin

Does anyone know how to solve the following problem?

I got 2 XenApp 5.0 servers called A and B on Windows 2008 server. I use a XenApp Secure Gateway for external access. On the CSG a webinterface is published and published applications are deployed on the XenApp servers for the users. All applications are published on server A and B .

The problem I face is the following.

When I start an published application named App1 I logon to server CTXA then I start published application AppB and by XenApp load balancing I am redirected to server CTXB but your session id keeps te same. When I logoff application AppA my settings are written to my profile. When I logoff application AppB my settings goana be overwritten again and I loose settings that I made in application A. This is happening with roaming profiles and also with mandatory profiles in combination with the Flex Profile Kit.

I know this is a known issue by a lot of people and this issue doesn’t exist if you use published desktops for example.

Is there a way to solve this so that you can use published apps on different servers for load balancing purposes without the problem that my application settings are being overwritten by every application that I log off.

There is an solution called session sharing but this only works with seamless applications, it restricts a user to one session and all application launched are opened on the same server. But this doesn’t always work without problems.

So are there any other options?
